The Stainless Steel 316 Round Bars are made with austenitic stainless steel. The chemical composition of the material would include chromium, nickel, and molybdenum, which gives the round bars its unique properties. The addition of molybdenum in the SS 316 Round Bars increases its corrosion resistance properties, more than the ss 304 grade.
Grade 321 stainless steel belongs to the austenitic class 300 series. Like most of the 300 series stainless steel alloys, the JIS SUS 321 black bar has multiple mechanical and corrosion resistance properties. The chemistry of this alloy is similar to grade 304, with the only difference that alloy 321 stainless steel round bar has been stabilized with the addition of titanium in its alloy. Adding titanium in any alloy is beneficial, particularly if the alloy has to undergo welding operations.
A common characteristic shared by grades 304, 321 and 347 is that they have the same basic chemical composition. Which means their alloy including the material for 347 stainless steel round bar consisted of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Yet, it has been noted that the properties for grade 347 and 321 are almost similar. This is on account of the addition of a stabilizing element in their alloy. For instance, the 347 stainless steel rods are stabilized by the addition of niobium to the alloy.

Grade 440C is also referred to by manufacturers and suppliers by its UNS designation alloy S44004. JIS SUS 440C black bar is an alloy that belongs to the martensitic class of stainless steels. The properties of 400 series are also shared by this alloy. Amongst all the 400 stainless steel series, the chemistry of 440C stainless steel round bar is known to have the highest content of carbon. Typically after undergoing a heat treatment procedure, the 440Cc stainless steel welding rod is able to secure a hardness that levels between 58 HRC – 60 HRC.

Nitronic™ 50 stainless steel is an austenitic grade providing corrosion resistance greater than other typical austenitic grades such as SS 316/316L and 317/317L. It is also capable of nearly double the yield strength of similar austenitic grades. Nitronic™ 50 (XM-19) stainless steel offers yield strength three times that of 316.

Duplex 2205 provides nearly double the corrosion resistance typical in other austenitic stainless steels.
416 stainless steel (Cond-A, HT) is a martensitic type of stainless steel alloy with excellent machinability characteristics. Condition A grade 416 round bars have been annealed, while the HT variation of this standard grade has undergone heat treatments.
Grade 410 belongs to the martensitic family of stainless steel alloys. Its high chromium content, which averages about 11.5 percent of its total composition, gives this stainless steel outstanding resistance to corrosion and excellent durability. Condition A, condition 2, and QDT variations of standard 410-grade stainless steel have been specially treated to boost their oxidation resistance and improve their mechanical properties.

While the chemistry of alloy 430 and 430F stainless steel rods is similar, the main difference between both of them is that alloy 430F has an increase in the content of sulfur. When sulfur is added to the alloy of grade JIS SUS 430F black bar, its machinability is a property that sees a dramatic surge.
